A message to parents who are struggling.

Raising kids is one of the hardest jobs anyone has ever done. 

Despite all the sacrifice, they may not show any appreciation or respect for you. 
And that sucks. 

But remember, God gave YOU those kids for a reason. 
You will

• Lose your cool

• Not discipline well

• Set a bad example

…You will make mistakes
But that doesn’t make you a bad parent.

It means you’re a human who (if we are honest) may feel like walking away sometimes.

Here’s the thing…

They are worth the fight.
They are worth trying again.
They are worth unappreciated love.

Kids don’t know how to be good.
They are born sinners just like us.

They need a trainer to develop them into the person God wants them to be.
But their sin nature doesn’t want to become that person.

You need to be in their corner
To correct, to nourish, to encourage, and to be an example.

That is your role as a parent.
Keep at it. Don’t quit. Keep going.

1. Vulnerability is the lifeblood of relationships. If we close ourselves off, we prevent deep relationships from forming.

2. If you try to appear like you have it all together, no one will trust you.

3. Your performance as a parent is not found on your child’s report card.
