How to Make a Christian Uncomfortable
And A Proud Dad Moment
A Proud Dad Moment
This made me a really proud dad.
We got my daughter a watch for Christmas last year.
She had wanted one for a while and she loved it.
The day after Christmas, she got upset and threw it down.
It broke… into pieces.
Since then, she has wanted a new one, but we told her we aren’t buying it.
She would have to buy it.
A few days ago, she got fixated on earning enough money to buy the watch.
So, we loaded up a cooler with water bottles and ice.
Slapped a sign on the front and headed out to sell.
We ended up at a local Rural King.
She was terrified at the idea of selling/talking to strangers,
but the free popcorn they offer got her out of the van.
I asked the manager if we could sell waters outside, and she said yes.
We made $30 in 20 minutes.
It surpassed our goal.
More importantly, my daughter got over her fear of selling to strangers.
She got the watch,
but I got to watch her work hard and overcome fears.
I got the better end of the deal.
How to Make a Christian Uncomfortable
We’ve been going through a series at church about thinking long-term instead of short-term.
It’s been tearing me up.
There are several parts of life I know I need to change.
One of those is sharing the gospel with those around me.
People who aren’t Christians typically don’t like when we talk about Jesus.
I understand….
It can be unsolicited, awkward, and unappreciated.
But you can know that when a Christian shares the gospel,
it is usually from a place of love.
They are overcoming their own fears and discomforts to share with you.
Why?
They care more about your soul than their discomfort.
They care more about your soul than your discomfort.
If there’s a Christian around who hasn’t shared the gospel with you…
Here’s how to make them uncomfortable.
Ask them why they’ve never shared the gospel with you.
My hope is a response of humble conviction.
Spots are filling up fast for the men’s cohort!!
The cohort is a group of men joining together for a 6-week program.
It is designed to pull men out of a season of burnout and reconnect with their wife, lead their kids effectively, and be more engaged at work.
Here is a previous edition with all the details.
Hit reply and lock in your spot quick! I anticipate it filling up fast.
I hope you have a great week!!
God Bless,
