Growth or Control

You can't have both...

Seeking control is holding you back.

We all want to be in control.
We think it leads to safety and success.

But what if that need for control is holding us back?
Craig Groeschel once said, "You can have control, or you can have growth."

That strikes a chord.
The tighter I grip my plans, the more I stifle my growth.

Life is unpredictable.
Plans should be made, but we should plan to change them.

As leaders, we need to motivate and trust our team to take ownership.
Otherwise, you miss opportunities and spend time where you shouldn’t.

A man of faith embraces their lack of control.
A man of fear tries to control everything.

How you spend your time is your decision.

We all have the same amount,
but get different results.

It’s a matter of priority and efficiency.

Your priorities are most clear when you look at your Saturdays.

Do you:
Catch up on work or play with your kids?
Clean the garage or volunteer?
Go on a date or go golfing?
Do you exercise or watch a movie?

Take an audit of your free time.
Then, see if they align with what your priorities should be.

What matters to God?
What matters to your wife?
What matters to your kids?

If a job, friend, hobby, or our selfishness get in the way,
Then we should work it out of our life.

We spend our time and money on what we treasure.

Fight the excuses and focus on what matters.

I hope you have a great Thanksgiving with your family!!

Take some time write out what you’re thankful for.
You’ll be glad you did!

God Bless,
Matt Virgin
